I’ve decided to take a break from doing my Weekly Pursuit posts. It may be a long break, or a short one, not sure which yet. But, I did want to start posting about my workouts in a post each week. This will allow me to go into each workout as much or as little as I want to. It will also give me something to look back on in my training.
Sunday May 28th – This is usually a cross-training day for me, unless it’s a race day. I went to the gym and did 11.10 miles on the bike in 56:10. Made it a bit easier to get in almost an hour because I found an episode of Law & Order: SVU to watch. 🙂
Monday, May 29th – Since it was Memorial Day, I didn’t have to get up as early since I was off from work. I got in 10.15 miles in 52:01 minutes on the bike for more cross-training. Typically, Sunday and Monday are my cross-training days right now.
Tuesday, May 30th – Run day! Tuesdays, we run and I love being with my group. We did 3.25 miles in 44 minutes with a pace of 13.31. This is a pretty decent pace for us when we aren’t trying for any real speed work. My legs felt a bit heavy on the first half of a mile or so, but they loosened up after that. I think it was all the bike miles I did.
Wednesday, May 31st – REST DAY! This has become a rest day for me again since I have learned I need two a week with my thyroid exhaustion right now. Worked out too, because I had a horrible migraine.
Thursday, June 1st – Track Thursday. We warmed up by walking two laps, then did a mile of run/walk at 11:59mi. Walked another lap, before running a second mile a bit faster at 11:32mi. Then, walked more to cool down.
Friday, June 2nd – REST DAY! This is pretty much always a rest day, since Saturdays are my long run days.
Saturday, June 4th – This was the official kickoff for the new season of Orlando Galloway training. Since I had already done my magic mile, some of us met earlier for a run. We did a 6-miler with an average pace of 14:08. A humid, but great run!
