I haven’t been good at getting these up the last few weeks, so I’m going to get back on the bandwagon. It’s a new month, so no time better than now to get them started again!
My workouts have been going well. Tends to be the food side of things that I have to work harder on keeping on point. Like they say, you can workout for an hour, but it’s the other 23 hours of the day that you have to keep track of. Way too easy to have an extra snack when your daily caloric count doesn’t allow for it.
That being said, while I’m not excited about what that scale deal has been telling me, there’s more to health and fitness than weight. It’s been something I’m learning to see beyond the numbers on the scale. Sure, there is such a thing as a healthy weight, but you also can’t let it define your life.
Sunday, July 30th – This was the day after my 17 mile training run. I wasn’t really too sore, but I was exhausted. Just didn’t feel like doing much of anything besides laying around watching TV. That said, I got myself dressed and out of the house for a CT workout at the gym anyway.
Monday, July 31st – Unplanned rest day. I found myself deciding that I needed a rest day, so I slept in and skipped the gym that morning before work.
Tuesday, August 1st – First run post-long run. I think taking the rest day on Monday helped, because I felt great on this run. My legs seemed to be pretty well recovered and I kept a good pace for our 3-miler.
Wednesday, August 2nd – Since I took Monday off, I felt guilty not getting in a second CT day, so I hit the gym for a bike workout that morning. Got in a good 42 minutes and felt pretty good.
Thursday, August 3rd – Track Thursday! We had 800s at 10k pace on the schedule for the workout. Found myself keeping the 10k pace with some push. Love having my co-group leader Melissa out there with me, we sort of challenge each other on track days. 🙂
Friday, August 4th – Rest day!
Saturday, August 5th – 6 mile run with my group. We all felt pretty darn good, because wow was our pace great. Honestly though, we should have slowed down in this crazy heat. And, Saturdays should be about a minute slower than the pace we kept.
How were your workouts last week?
