I don’t know about you, but it seems that this time of year almost sneaks up on me with all the things going on. I had quite the whirlwind three weekends of back-to-back half marathons starting with Space Coast Half Marathon and closing out with the inaugural Jeff Galloway 13.1 in Atlanta. I have so much to blog about, just not enough hours in the day! So, I’m hoping to get back on track with my race reports and such as of this week. It’s hard to believe that I haven’t blogged in two weeks!
Not only does the end of the year bring race season into full swing, but Christmas is four days away! I’ll be honest when I say that I’ve done everything that I can do to stay away from the crowds of shoppers. I love Christmas, just not so much the commercialism of it all. To me, it’s about the birth of Jesus as well as being with family and friends. Sure, presents are nice, but I’m happy just spending time with the ones that I love. That’s a present you can’t wrap or put a bow on.
Also, work tends to become pretty hectic with over-time starting to become a term the management frequently reminds you that you need to be doing. I love the extra pay of course, just not the extra time I have to put in sitting at my desk. We also don’t get any real time off during the holiday less for Christmas day itself and New Year’s day. It’s another reason I appreciate the time I do get off to spend with my loved ones during the holidays.
How about you? Is this is crazy time of year for you? Are you running a lot of races? Or, maybe you like the adventure a crowded mall brings after Thanksgiving?
