It’s been 19 days since I started my current weight loss journey. I’m happy to report that I’m doing well! I’ve been keeping on plan calorie-wise, less for Christmas day. Tuesday was the only day I didn’t track my eating and let myself enjoy the day. Just that one day, on Wednesday, I was back on it.
I’m using MyFitnessPal to track my calories and nutrition. This works very well for me. I can put in everything I eat very easily throughout the day. Other apps can be connected to MyFitnessPal so that your workouts/exercise can be added. I use Strava to track all of my workouts, so once I put in a run, bike workout or whatever, it will sync will MyFitnessPal and everything comes together.
I will admit that I kind of don’t like my rest days, because I get less calories! LOL! I get 1240 calories when I don’t workout at all. That’s my base set-up on MyFitnessPal. So, when I workout, I tend to average about 1500 calories a day, which is much more workable for me.
The scale isn’t really showing me any loss at this point. Part of me was disappointed in that, but I reminded myself that it’s also about inches. Unfortunately, I didn’t check that at the start of this journey, but I am feeling better and even a bit smaller in some of my clothes. Not a lot obviously, but a bit. I’m lingering at 133.2 right now on the scale (TMI, but it’s also that time of the month), so I’m hopeful that it will show a loss soon.
I’m also doing a daily plank challenge. I do about a minute everyday, to help strengthen my core. It’s feeling a bit easier on some days, but other days, if I’m tired, it can still be challenging to hold that plank position for a minute.
Thus far, I’m very proud of myself for staying on track and knowing that the ultimate goal of losing the weight is more important than having that cookie right now (even though it always looks so good!). The reward once I hit my goal is going to be much sweeter. 🙂
