I’ve been off today and am off tomorrow (Tuesday) as well, it’s nice to have a four day weekend! I was hoping to head over to St. Augustine with my father to enjoy the sights and take pictures, but the weather wasn’t predicted to be good, rain, rain and more rain. So, I started off the day with a workout, then went window shopping with my mom.
This past week was a good one. After the endocrinologist visit on Monday, I ran on Tuesday with my group, then had a two-a-day workout on Wednesday with a gym workout before work followed by a run with Track Shack that evening. On Thursday, I went to the gym after work and rested on Friday. Friday morning I had to get up early to head to the doctor’s office to get adrenal test blood work done. Saturday morning, I did a pretty easy 6.2 miles with my running group. And then on Sunday, I was back in the gym for more cross-training and strength work. I also started doing a plank a day, so hoping I can keep that up.
The plan for this week work-out wise is to do cross-training today (which I did at the gym this morning), run tomorrow and planning for a gym workout after the run. Wednesday will likely be back in the gym and maybe the weekly run after work with Track Shack. If I run on Wednesday evening, I will likely skip Thursday morning track and just hit the gym instead. Friday as usual will be a rest day. Saturday looks like it’s going to be 6-8 miles of hill work in Apopka. While I dislike the hills, I really do need to get some good mileage in with them before my October half marathon in North Carolina.
As far as last week’s goals…
1. Workout 5 days. Accomplished! I did great with my workouts last week and am planning to stay on that success train from now on, especially in the cross-training and strength areas.
2. Bible time. Did better with this, but it’s a continual work in progress for me until I get this on my schedule as a daily, if not every other day thing.
3. Positivity. Did good on this one as well. I stayed upbeat, even when I had to deal with getting stuck twice with my Friday morning blood work (and it hurt lol). 🙂
This week’s goals…
1. Bible study. I’ve got my Bible right in my eye line this week and want to keep it close to me. I also just joined Family Bookstore’s iDisciple app, so I think that will help my walk with God.
2. Help others. I want to listen more, connect more to the people around me and learn how I can help them in some way, show them love and a caring heart from a friend.
3. Reading. Besides my Bible reading and study, I need to get on my to-read pile of books.
4. Cross-training/Strength. Get in 2-3 days of cross-training and strength work. I already think it’s been helping me feel stronger to not only do the weight work at the gym, but adding in planks and squats.
How was your week? What are your plans for this week workout and life-wise? I’d love to hear about them!
I have the reading goal this week too – huge pile of books and yet I am ignoring them.
