The Weekly Chase #13

Well, last week went pretty well until I got sick late in the week. I had been dealing with some dizziness and nausea a bit, but it got worse on Wednesday evening. So, on Thursday when I woke up, I called the doctor’s office to see if I could be seen that day. I was able to get an appointment later that afternoon, so I logged into work until I had to go to the appointment.

The doctor gave me an antibiotic pack, as it appeared I had a sinus infection. I tend to be chronic now, and get them a couple of times a year or more. I thought I’d be feeling better by Friday afternoon, but I was still pretty much the same. So, less for a brief run to the store, I stayed home (was off for my birthday) and rested. On Saturday morning, I woke up congested, more so than I had been, but decided to run the 5k I was looking forward to doing. I did the race without much of an issue, then came out and continued to rest. By that afternoon, I was feeling worse. The congestion only got worse and when I woke up on Sunday morning, I was coughing and had a hoarse voice. What I thought was a sinus infection has turned into something worse.

So today, I had hoped to work, but I can barely talk, as I’m so congested. Waiting for a call back from my doctor to see if there’s anything else I can be taking or doing. Though, I know it’s likely just rest and time that’s going to help me get better. It’s just sad because I have yet to celebrate my birthday. Hoping I can make up for that in the next week or so once I’m feeling better and like myself again. I take good care of myself, so this getting sick with this congestion crud for the second time this year is both annoying and upsetting. I just want to be able to work, get my runs and gym workouts in, and such. Hoping the week only gets better, and that I can be back to my regular self soon!

Last week’s goals:
1. Reading. Still reading both books that I listed last week. I dropped off reading as much the last 2-3 days, so I want to get back to reading daily like I was doing.
2. Workout 5 days a week. I was able to get in workouts five out of the seven days last week, which is great.
3. Run for the Trees 5k. Ran this race, but as I stated in the race report, no new PR this time around. Hopefully next year.

This week’s goals:
1. Get better. This is my top priority right now so that I can get back to my regular schedule. Honestly, this is my one and only goal for the week. Once I can get better, everything else will fall back into place.

What are your goals for this week?
