It’s Saturday, and time for another Ultimate Coffee Date! I haven’t done one of these in awhile, so I’m happy to be able to participate in another one with Deborah and Coco. If you haven’t heard of the Ultimate Coffee Date, it takes place the first Saturday of each month. It’s basically a virtual coffee/tea date with friends!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… how blessed I am truly feeling right now. God is truly good and I am thankful that I have another chance to run the NYC Marathon. It’s something I haven’t been able to get off of my mind since running it in 2015, and all of 2016 I wanted just one more opportunity to run the five boroughs. He has blessed me just that.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… I have my 27th half marathon on Sunday. This will be my second time running Swamp House Half Marathon in DeBary. I PR’ed there last year, but I’m not sure how I will do this time around. I’m going to play it by feel on race morning and go from there.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… getting into the 2017 TCS NYC Marathon has kicked my FitJourney into high gear. I really need to get on my goal of getting myself in better shape by the summer. I think having that big goal ahead of me will really help keep my motivation up. That’s what helped me a lot in 2015 when I lost 5lbs before I hit my main running training.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you… I’ve gotten into the reality show, Hunted on CBS. A friend just told me about it and it’s so good. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s about couples/teams of two who “go on the run as fugitives.” If they can avoid the Hunters for 28 days, they win 250,000. Quite interesting and fun to watch.
How about you? What would you tell me if we were having coffee together?
Good luck with your half this weekend and congrats on getting into NYC! Way to kick off your year. Thanks for linking up for coffee
I love your image of friends and happiness- so true! Wow! I am impressed by all your running- I have only done 2 marathons and 2 halfs! I have a long way to go to catch up with you…more like, never!
Congrats to you on your NYC entry! That will definitely kick you into high gear- good luck!
Congrats on getting into NYC!!
Good luck with your half this weekend!
Congrats on New York! I’ve heard it was pretty hard to get in. That show sounds pretty neat.
Congrats on NYCM! I almost pulled the trigger for it but I had to keep my health in mind… maybe next year!
Congrats on getting into the NYC Marathon! I wish I’d run it back when I ran multiple marathons per year and all you had to do was register to run it… I’ll just have to live vicariously through those running it this year.
Thanks Debbie! It’s a tough race, but I really wanted to do it again! π
Definitely keep it in mind when you feel ready. It’s a marathon experience you will never forget. Nothing like NYC!
Thanks! It’s like under 17% of lottery folks got in…definitely feel blessed.
Thanks Michelle! It’s been a good week. π
Thanks! That’s for sure, my motivation is way high right now!
Aw, thanks! Be proud of what you’ve accomplished, two marathons and two halfs is great! We are all on different journeys, so just enjoy it!
Thanks Deborah! Love the coffee link ups!
Congrats on NYCM version 2! That’s definitely one I’d run again in a heartbeat. I was this close to throwing my hat in again, but I resisted. For a sec I thought you got ON that reality show. Haha!
I would tell you I don’t watch reality tv at all. I like plenty of regular tv shows! And usually only watch a show or two at night with my husband (we DVR it so we skip the commercials).
Good luck with the marathon! We didn’t spectate last year, but I did run the 5k the day before & it had been a long time since I’d been in NYC so it was fun. Haven’t decided whether or not I’ll do it again this year — kind of depends on my husband.
Ok. I first I thought you meant that you were selected to be ON the reality show, but then realized that you got into watching it. π
Congrats on getting into the NYC Marathon. One year I may just have to enter the lottery. It is definitely a bucket list race for me.
Congrats on getting into NY!! And I really need to watch Hunted. I’ve always wondered how long I could last under the radar … eh, maybe an hour, tops? π
Ha ha! I think I wouldn’t have lasted the 28 days! LOL!
Thanks so much, I can’t wait to get my training started. Definitely enter the lottery next year if you can.
Ha, I know, it’s not easy with Big Brother watching all over! LOL!
Thanks so much, Laura. I’m so excited about NYC!
What shows are you into? I’m a big crime/law TV show kind of person. Definitely nice when you can skip the commercials!
I am planning on walking the 5k the day before the marathon with my mom, so that should be fun. Let me know if you come out. Thanks, Judy!
Thanks Marcia! Yeah, it’s such an amazing race for sure!
I love coffee, but surprisingly I donβt drink it every day. In fact during the work week I drink mostly Tea!
So happy for you! :] I hope your 27th half marathon went well! (Sorry that I’m so behind the times! Life has been kinda crazy lately, haha).
Hunted sounds really interesting–I’m going to have to check that out! Not that I need more series to get hooked on…
