For the last couple of years or so, I’ve been meaning to check out the series, Bones. For multiple reasons, that had never come to fruition. That is, until today. I was able to borrow the first season, disc one from my local library on Wednesday. Being home sick since yesterday afternoon, I figured today was a good time to check it out.
The first disc contains the pilot episode along with three others. Just like I fell in love with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation right away, I quickly fell for Bones. The cast is very likable, especially David Boreanez and Emily Deschanel who portray FBI Agent Booth and Dr. “Bones” Brennan respectively. It is easy to see how much the cast enjoys their roles and the characters they play. The chemistry between Booth and Brennan is great. I don’t know if I would say it is as good as say X-Files’ Mulder and Scully, but it is definitely there.
The story lines themselves seem very well-written and researched, which I see as a must for a show like this. You can easily fool some viewers, but if you want to earn real fans and respect, you go all the way. The creators of Bones have done that it seems. Sure, there will be some things changed for the sake of fiction television, but overall I have to say, good job.
I am definitely looking forward to watching the rest of the first season as well as moving on to seasons two and three soon after.
