I’m joining in on the Tuesdays on the Run link-up with Erika, Patty & Marcia. This week’s topic is St. Patty’s Day.
TOTR Topic: Talk to us about St. Patrick’s day – do you have traditions, a favorite race, a costume you’ll be wearing?
I really don’t have any St. Patrick’s Day traditions. Though, I do enjoy wearing green and all that fun stuff that day if I’m racing or running.
Usually, a local race, the Winter Park Road Race 10k takes place around St. Patrick’s Day, so in the past, I’ve worn festive green and Shamrock fun stuff. This year though, the race is at the end of the month, so kind of doesn’t make the holiday cut-off. LOL!
This year, my plan is to run 6-8 miles with some of my local Galloway running friends, so I’ll likely wear a green Skirt Sports skirt and a fun top. St. Patty’s Day may be on Friday but I think the day after can be a fun one to adorn some green.
I don’t even know what events are going on around here this week or weekend for the holiday. I’m not a beer drinker, so if it’s just drinking events, they aren’t really my thing. Maybe I will make some sort of green smoothie though. Ha ha. 🙂
How about you, are you big into celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? I’d love to hear if you run a themed race!
It is a good plan for the year Shannon, I hope that you can make it come true. I like the post very much. Thanks for sharing!
I’m not a drinker either so that part of St. Patty’s Day is lost on me. I do love all the green and fun and a good race or two though. Thanks for linking up!
I do a Leprechaun Chase every year…..the guys chase the gals to the finish line (because they get a delayed start).
Have a great one this weekend! Love that you’re wearing green!
On St. Patrick’s Day I’m going to stay at home and spend all day to sleep, it’s so ashamed! Your plan sounds great! Hope that you have a good race with your friends.
You too, thanks Tania! 🙂
Ha, I LOVE that idea! I know that Skirt Sports used to do a 5k called the Skirt Chaser that was like that.
