What a weekend! Was a great one, but really took the energy out of me. Monday was rough, thus why this post is being posted a day late. I’ve noticed that after pushing myself for a day or two, I’m pretty drained energy-wise the next day. I had to go into the office for my annual review today, so that was also on my mind.
On the positive side, it’s Tuesday and that meant a run day. I decided to take Monday completely off from working out. While I usually try to get in an easy bike workout the day after a race or long run, my body really needed the day of rest. I woke up this morning feeling better and my 5k run with my running buddy went well.
I really enjoyed the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend. On Saturday, I went to the expo to get my race bib and packet, as well as work the Galloway Pacer table for a couple of hours. I would be pacing my first race the next morning, and was looking forward to it. The remainder of the day was spent back at home watching a bit of TV and then heading to bed early.
Sunday started very, very early. I woke up at 3am in order to be at Epcot by 4am. It’s definitely earlier than I’d like to get up, but thankfully, my marathon training over the last 4 years have me a bit used to such early hours. I won’t go into the race itself here, as I will be posting a race recap this week. I will say that it was a great experience and I’m looking forward to pacing another half marathon soon.
This weekend, I’ve got another half marathon on the schedule. I will be running the Swamp House Half Marathon on Sunday in DeBary. This will be half number 27. I PR’ed at Swamp House last year, but since I just did DONNA earlier this month, then Princess this past weekend, I’m not sure what my plan is for Sunday morning. I’m just going to play it by feel and see how it goes. Would be great to do it in 3 hours, but we shall see.
On the goals front, last week’s goals…
1. Logging my food everyday. Check, got it done.
2. Hydration, gotta drink up! Another goal accomplished!
3. Spending time with Indy as much as possible. We’ve been spending evenings after work together, and it’s great. We even “eat dinner” together. 🙂
4. Garage sale pricing of my stuff (having a sale Saturday morning). This got canceled, so no go.

3. Write Princess Half Race Recap.
4. Get back to reading Fred Lebow book.
