I have running on the brain. I think about running all the time. I think about it when I’m at work, at home making dinner and even as I am falling asleep. It’s a good thing though (unless you aren’t a runner, then you probably don’t want to talk to me long since I’ll go on and on), I feel like it keeps me going. My first marathon is still over 7 months away, yet I think about that a lot too. I need more runner friends I think, before I scare off the non-running ones between now and then.
Anyway, today is Thankful Things Thursday. I love this day, yet I always have to think awhile about some of the things I should add to my weekly list. There really are a number of things to be thankful for, even when life is throwing you crazy curve balls. I believe we need to stop and thank God for those things and think positively about the future. We have one life and need to make the best of it.
I’m thankful for sales. Specially, Skirt Sports sales. I didn’t get a skirt this time (I really want a blue one, but it wasn’t on sale), but I did order a blue top. It will be $15 well spent, as I love their running clothes. I hope to be able to try Running Skirts’ athletic skirt at some point, but gotta wait for a sale or cheaper prices, especially now that I’ve got to pay off my new tires (ouch!).
I’m thankful for new music. I just downloaded tobyMac’s new single the other day and I love it! Can’t wait until his new album comes out. I also have a few cds from the library to check out. Speaking of cds, I really hope Mazda gets the part to fix my car’s cd player asap, I miss listening to stuff in the car! Okay, so I can connect my iPod, but sometimes, I just want to pop in a cd.
I’m thankful for blueberries. Besides being healthy and oh so good for you, they are probably my favorite berry to put in my oatmeal. I wonder if my love for the color blue is a part of it too…
I’m thankful that Debby is gone. Yay, no more tropical storm, or depression or whatever she was. I am glad to be able to see the sun again. I can’t wait to get on my bike this Sunday (maybe Saturday too?) for a nice ride. I missed this past Sunday’s ride due to the monsoon, so Eva (that’s my bike) has been staring at me each time I come home wondering when we might hit the asphalt again.
I’m thankful for fellow bloggers. I love reading other running and fitness blogs regularly. I’d like to say that I read them daily, but that is impossible on some days. I do read the ones I bookmark at least 2-3 times a week to see if they have updated. Reading some of their posts help me stay inspired and motivated to keep going and to push myself more.
I’m thankful that I’ve finished my meds. I finished the 3 weeks of antibiotic medication that the Ear, Nose and Throat doctor gave me for my sinus infections this morning. Here’s hoping that I’ve finally kicked the sinus problem in the butt and it doesn’t come back…at least for a good while anyway.
I’m thankful for my Kindle. There’s quite a difference between carrying my e-reader and an actual book. I can put my Kindle in my purse and go. A book, unless it’s a small paperback, not so much. I still love actually having a book in my hands, but the weight and restrictions of them make my e-reader more appealing. So glad that I got one for Christmas. So much still to read though…
I’m thankful for nuun. I love this stuff! I just wish I had the money to buy stock or something in it. My current favorite flavors are Strawberry Lemonade and Grape. I am also looking forward to trying the new all-day nuun once it hits stores. Hoping my local running store, Track Shack stocks it.
What about you? What are you thankful for this week? Please leave a comment below and share!
