Thankful Thursday: Short Work Week, WDW Marathon & Good Books

It’s Thursday again! Wow, that came quick, didn’t it? Errr, okay it’s only because of the holiday, but it still felt pretty quick to me. 🙂

I’m thankful for short work weeks. Oh, they are so great, aren’t they? Especially because I get paid for Monday without even having to work Monday, definitely a plus. I practically did nothing on Monday, which was also nice. Once in awhile, it’s nice to just relax and not do much.

I love spaghetti

I’m thankful for spaghetti. I love spaghetti, it’s so yummy and yet so easy to make. As of this evening, I’ll have had it for three nights this week. This is totally acceptable and okay in my book. Can you really have too much Italian food? I think not. I also believe this to be the case about Mexican food. That’s also tops in my opinion.

Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark = Sexy hot!

I’m thankful for Tony Stark. Yes, this is funny, but yet it’s not. I’m kind of sort of in love with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. I mean, the hotness factor is out the window. Can you imagine having someone like Tony for a boyfriend? Gwenyth better watch out, I’m sure that I’m not the only single lady out looking at her man (her man in the movies…but still, she gets to be with him then. I’m jealous for sure).

Indy, my sweet handsome boy

I’m thankful that my birds come back home this weekend. I know, I know, I talk about them all the time in Thankful Thursdays (and other blog posts), but they are like my kids since I have yet to have offspring. They have been spending the week at my parents’ house since we had to bug bomb the house yesterday. I miss hearing my parakeet Angel singing to me and my lovebird Indy flirting with me (yes, he flirts, trust me).

This is a great book!

I’m thankful for good books. I just read a great one, maybe you’ve heard of it? It’s entitled, Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. It’s an awesome book. I’ve had at least one friend recommending that I read it for years (or at least 3-4 years, but that counts as just years right?), but I just never got around to it or something. I finally did it though, and am happy to say that I enjoyed it. It really got me thinking about my Christianity and life. I will now recommend that you go out and get yourself a copy to read if you have yet to read it. I’ll be reading more of Mr. Miller’s work in the near future.

Cycling Savvy team with Mayor Dyer on Bike to Work Day

I’m thankful that I biked 12 miles. Okay, it was just under 12 miles, but that’s how far I biked last Friday to , during and from the Mayor’s Bike to Work Day. My legs hated me intensely for most of the weekend, but it felt good to get out on my bike for more than a short 3-4 mile ride. I look forward to many more longer rides this summer.

Will the WDW Marathon be my first full marathon?

I’m thankful for race planning. Yup, I’m already planning my races for later this year and into next year. And, I’m seriously considering my first-ever full marathon being the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2013. It excites and scares me all at the same time.

What are you thankful for today? Comment below and share the good things in your life.
