Thankful Thursday: No slip headbands, running & music love

With yesterday ending on a bit of a stressful note, today is a great today to think about what I’m thankful for. I think God gives us moments or days where things come up to challenge us just because we can handle it. I know, it kind of sounds crazy, but I think it’s true. Also, we need to be reminded that life is good, but not always easy. If life was peaches all the time, that would be pretty boring, wouldn’t it? (And yes, I said peaches, for some reason, it just felt like the right way to describe it)

I’m thankful that tomorrow is Friday. Okay, so maybe that’s a given, but hey, sometimes you are extremely happy about a Friday (or at least happy, not sure about the extreme part). This is one of those times. I just need my weekend right now. I need a couple of days off. It’s like the Huey Lewis & the News song says, “All I want is a couple of days off!”

This cat looks like it got into the catnip.

I’m thankful for Galloway training. Training finally begins on Saturday, and I can’t wait! I’ve been looking forward to starting the program and even training for my first full marathon (eek!). I love running with a group at least once a week as the company and motivation is like no other. And, I look forward to making more friends.

Galloway training starts this weekend!

I’m thankful for music. Sometimes, a good song is all you need to put a smile on your face. Music can make you laugh, cry or just want to get up and dance. Nothing else can evoke a range of reactions and emotions like music. I love being able to turn on the radio and hear just the right song for that moment. It is such an amazing feeling.

I love the Z morning show, as does my birds (they sing when I put it on).

I’m thankful for no-slip headbands. I finally found some locally at a reasonable price this past weekend and I love them. Well, love may be a bit strong of a word, but I really like them. Now, I really do want some cute, design headbands that I can wear for both running and whenever. I’ve been considering both Bic Bands and Sparkly Soul bands, so going to likely finally order something in the next couple of days. Just need to decide on a couple since those are pricier than ones you find at Target.

There's just nothing like getting out there and running

I’m thankful that I am able to run. With National Running Day this past Wednesday, it was another reminder of just how much I love it. I am so appreciative that I can run again and hope I never take it for granted. The feeling that running gives me is like nothing else.

How about you? What are you thankful for? Leave a comment below and let me know.
