Well hey, can you believe that it’s that time of the week again? Yup, Thursdays are Thankful Things Thursday on the blog (well, most weeks anyway). It’s been quite the last week and I couldn’t be more thankful right now for all the blessings in my life.
I’m thankful that I finished my first marathon. Yes, deep down I knew I would cross that finish line, but until I actually did it, it remained just a dream and belief in doing so. Like I said in my race report, it was quite the emotional experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Sure, I would have gladly had warmer weather or at least no crazy winds, but other than that, it was awesome.
I’m thankful for the Galloway method. Here it is day four after my marathon and I am feeling so close to being recovered. I love this training program so so much. It has helped me be a runner again and it’s great. I also love how easy and sweet Jeff Galloway is to talk to and approach at expos and appearances. The man is just so amazing and open to fellow runners.
I’m thankful for peanut butter crackers. Seriously, I’ve been craving peanut butter lately and they can just hit the spot for a snack. You can’t go wrong with peanut butter or any good nut butter really. Yum!
I’m thankful for the community at the 26.2 with Donna. These folks were the best spectators a runner could ever hope for. They were beyond awesome if that’s possible. They made you smile and feel good about yourself when you needed a little pick me up. Thanks Jacksonville Beach folks!
I’m thankful for my mom. She was so great in spending her weekend off with me driving to and from my marathon, waiting for me at the finish line for 2 hours and just being there for me during this big event in my life. I love my family, especially my mom, she’s the best.
What are you thankful for this week?
