I haven’t done a Thankful Thursday in awhile, so I figured I was overdue for one. Things have been up and down a lot lately for me. More ups than downs though, and we need to be thankful for the good things. It’s easy to pray for help during life’s struggles, but we should also be thanking Him for all the blessings that we have.
I’m thankful that Angel is okay. I had a scare with my 10 year-old parakeet over the long holiday weekend. I discovered a lump/cyst below her stomach area and I was very concerned about her. I got into a local vet on Tuesday morning, and got mostly good news. My baby has fatty tumors on her stomach and that area below it. This is due to being on a seed diet all of her life. I knew it wasn’t the best for her, but she has just never really liked pellets. Now however, she will be transitioning over in the next few weeks to a completely pelleted diet. This will hopefully help her drop some weight (she is also overweight), and have a longer life. She’s a happy, sweet bird who I love a great deal. I hope she continues to be that way for some time.
I’m thankful for periscope. I’m so into this live video streaming fun now! I’m not a shy person by any means, but being on video has always been a difficult one for me. It’s definitely a self-esteem issue, and this is helping me be more comfortable with it. I still have a lot of work to do on my video quality and content, but I’m loving it and thankful for the outlet as well as everyone who has watched and followed me.
I’m thankful for Vega. Their product supplement line literally fuels me each and every day. I start each day off with a Vega Protein & Greens smoothie and use the Hydrator in my water (helps with cruddy headaches too!), and love my post-workout Vega Sport shakes. The products just make me feel good and I believe they have really helped me with my marathon training.
I’m thankful for my church. When I go to service and hear the music praising God, and listen to the message my Pastor gives us, I feel like I am in the right place. I was lead to the church after some searching, and it’s been a blessing, helping me in my spiritual growth. I’m now working on getting more involved with small groups and classes.
I’m thankful for running friends. My group helps me get through the miles each week. With a 23 mile run coming up on Saturday, I can’t imagine not being with some of these awesome people during the run. Friends make the miles pass by faster, and it’s more fun running with each other.
What are you thankful for this week? Post in the comments, I’d love to hear about them. 🙂
