Come out and run the 2019 Daytona Beach Half Marathon on February 10th! The course begins on the iconic Daytona International Speedway at Pit Road, continues around the racetrack, then heads out toward the Atlantic Ocean. Runners cross the Halifax River and get a beautiful view of the ocean just after sunrise. The route will then head onto the hard-packed sands of Daytona Beach, then head back toward the Speedway.
The race is in it’s 10th year, and now also includes a 5k that takes place the day before the half marathon. Participants can register for the Speedway Challenge, which includes both the 5k and half marathon. Finishers of the Challenge receive a special Challenge finisher medal. The 5k takes place the evening before the half marathon, so it could be a fun shake-out run on the beach!
Race perks include custom shirts for both the 5k and half marathon events, finisher’s beach towel for half marathoners, post-race party at ONE DAYTONA, complimentary race photos, free Racejoy live tracking, and complimentary food & beer at the post-race party.
The 2019 Daytona Beach Half Marathon benefits the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet, Florida. The Center has cared for nearly nine-hundred juvenile and adult sea turtles, more than fifteen-thousand hatchlings and washbacks, and nearly on-thousand gopher turtles, freshwater turtles and snakes. The main goal of the Marine Science Center is sea turtle rehabilitation.
