This week’s episode sent former American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard under the red line and thus home from the Ranch. His five pound weight loss on the scale just wasn’t enough for him to avoid elimination.
I had the opportunity to briefly talk to Ruben about his experience on The Biggest Loser. When asked if he thought Dolvett Quince was the best trainer fit for him, Ruben stated, “I’m glad he chose me.” He went on to explain that there was a reason Dolvett picked him for the red team and while he feels that he could have been successful with Bob or Jillian, he was happy that was under Dolvett in the gym.
As far as goals for himself and the Finale, Ruben seems to have more long-term goals. “Goal to be at my physical best…however long it takes.” He is ready for the long haul, and that is not only impressive, but it’s obvious his head is in the right place for success.
Ruben was able to reveal that as of now, he’s lost a total of 104lbs since beginning his journey on The Biggest Loser. As far as how much more he’ll lose total or by the Finale is anyone’s guess. But, with a new album due out in February, Ruben explains that he is “now taking care of the person who sang the song.” I look forward to seeing him at the Finale.
Enjoying the show so far this season. Fun to see how well last season’s kids are doing, too.
