Disclaimer: I was recently provided a pair of compression socks to review. The opinions are my own, but I did receive free product.
When I heard about SPUN Performance Apparel, I was definitely interested in checking out their compression wear. I’m a big lover of compression socks and sleeves, so their products were right up my alley. And, they had pink (yes, this is a plus)!
According to their website:
Spun Performance Apparel was born out of necessity. When our founders began searching for compression apparel to aid them in their performance and to speed up their recovery, they shared a common sentiment, “Why’s this stuff so expensive?” So, they set out to try to find the answer. There were a few factors that led to most legitimate compression apparel being so expensive: 1. It’s sold through retail locations, so there is an extra level of markup, sometimes as high as 200%. 2. Many compression apparel companies pay athletes to wear their gear. 3. It’s worth it. While we share their sentiment on the final point, we wholeheartedly disagree with the first two.
Why drive to a specialty running or cycling store to try something on for a minute or two in a cramped dressing room when you can order online and try it on in the comfort of your own home. If it doesn’t fit, we’ll pay for you to ship it back to us. Why should you care who else is wearing the gear you wear? The only important thing is your gear helps YOU to perform YOUR best and to recover quickly so that you can get back to training as soon as possible.
So much of their way of thinking makes me love them even more. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on gear, but really wants to have the best that I can, I am always looking for a good deal. Running, is not as cheap as we’d like to believe it is when you factor in races, shoes and such.
As soon as I got the pink compression socks in the mail, I was excited. They are soft and they look awesome! Of course, the question was, would they be as comfortable as they appeared? I’m happy to report that they are in fact very comfortable. After wearing them around the house post-run one day, I honestly didn’t want to take them off! I even wore them to bed on another occasion after a long run day. I can see myself turning to these socks after my upcoming marathon training this summer/fall as well as post-races. They will make recovery bit better, and the pink color makes me happy.

Spun Performance’s compression socks are just $34.99 a pair with free shipping! Really is a good price. They come in pink, lime green, black, grey and white. They also offer compression pants, shorts and shirts. Definitely great gear for reasonable prices in my opinion. I could see myself buying a pair of the shorts in the near future.
I recently got a pair of the PRO compression socks in that same pink color. I’ve heard such good things about compression so really hoping they work! 🙂
