I will say it upfront, I’m not a fan of wearing masks. I feel like I can’t breathe well with them on, and my glasses always get fogged up. That said, when we were offered an opportunity to review a face mask by Body Helix, I opted in. Since I have to wear one during the pandemic whenever I am shopping and out in public, I’ve been on the lookout for something comfortable and doesn’t feel like it will labor my breathing.

The design of the Body Helix Ultra Light face mask got me interested. It isn’t like any mask I’ve seen out there. The company states that the mask is ultra-light fabric, at 0.5mm, making it ideal for hot temperatures; disposable filters making it safer and easily breathable; an optional nasal bridge wire strip to control air leakage which can be an issue leading to glasses fogging. Further, the large over-the-ear strap design cuts down on discomfort on the ears, and the mask itself is created with a non-slip fabric, allowing it to fit more snugly.

When I first received the mask, I was impressed with the feel of it. It really is super light and has a soft feel to it. I did an “unboxing” video on my YouTube channel with my first impressions on it. I really liked the nose bridge because it conformed better to my face, making my glasses fog less.

Since, I’ve been wearing the mask whenever I go out for errands and what have you. Honestly, I just couldn’t run or workout in it. Just didn’t work for me. But, I know some of my fellow BibRavePros did, and I will link to their reviews/thoughts at the bottom of this blog post. I’m pretty fortunate in that I don’t have to run in a mask in my state. We only have to wear them inside businesses and whenever we cannot properly social distance.

The Girl's Got Sole - Body Helix face mask review

I’ve gotten some good use of my Body Helix face mask when I go out to Target or the grocery store. Overall, I have liked it. It is the most comfortable mask I’ve tried thus far, and I don’t feel so restricted in it that I can’t breathe. Cloth masks, while I like all of the neat designs, have been mostly miss for me, I’m just not as comfortable in them. My only issue with the Body Helix mask is that I had some issues with the filter making my nose itchy. And, trying to scratch your face with a mask on is pretty difficult. It’s like an itch you just can’t properly scratch.
