I don’t use headphones as much as I used to these days. I find myself using them mostly at the gym, or at the occasional race if I’m running solo. The latter has become few and far between since I’m fortunate to run with some great friends and I have learned to appreciate running and just enjoying the race atmosphere itself. That said, when I had the opportunity to review Aftershokz Trekz Titanium headphones, I was interested. I’m always looking for a good set of headphones for the times I do use them.

Trek Titanium headphones

The Trek Titanium wireless headphones are a great, safe alternative to standard sport headphones. The headphones use bone conductive technology, with an open ear design to deliver premium music quality. The Trek Titanium’s are sweat-proof and secure while allowing you to hear your surroundings.

— Enjoy 6 hours of continuous music as well as calls on a single charge
— IP55 certified to repel sweat, dust and moisture, from workouts to crazy weather
— Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and convenient multi-point pairing
— EQ presets boost bass and reduce vibration on the go
— Audrey Says voice prompts guides users through power, play and talk

I was very impressed with the Trek Titanium’s. It took some getting used to regarding the placement of the headphones themselves, but once I figured out a proper comfortable placement, they were great. The sound quality is amazing, definitely the best compared to any headphones I currently have or have used up to this time. I used them during a portion of a recent race and I could not only hear my music clearly, but my surroundings as well. I can see the safety factor of these headphones for athletes. If you need to run with music, this is truly the way to go.

Connecting them to your blue-tooth device is easy peasy. Once I set them up on my android phone, the connection was quick and hassle-free every time. I put on my music or podcast of choice and I was jamming in no time. I have also worn them around the house while doing housework and such. Much better than putting on your iPod in one room and only hearing it when you are in that room. You have to take your music with you, much better!

Definitely check these headphones out if you are looking for something to wear safely on your next run. They will keep you motivated with your choice of music while allowing you to hear your surroundings at the same time. The Trek Titanium’s go for $129.99 retail, but right now, you can save 20%!
