The Girl's Got Sole - One Awesome Mother Runner virtual

Gone for a Run’s One Awesome Mother Runner Virtual run took place between May 14-31st. This virtual celebrated motherhood for Mother’s Day. A portion of each race entry gets donated to Star, a non-profit organization serving individuals of all ages who have development disabilities.

While I’m not a mom to any kids yet, I have been a mom to feathered babies. My current is Toby, my sweet little parakeet baby. So, I ran my 5k thinking of him and the other birdies in the family. 🙂

The Girl's Got Sole - Gone for a Run virtual 5k

As always, I run with my Galloway group, so that makes it more fun. I ran this particular 5k on May 16th since Mother’s Day was on the 14th. I had been dealing with some leg tightness and back soreness after a tough run the prior Saturday, so this run helped loosen my muscles up. Both ladies I ran with that morning are actual mothers, so that was a plus!

Love being able to add in these fun virtual races during my marathon training. I mean hey, who doesn’t love a little extra bling? 🙂

The Girl's Got Sole - Gone for a Run virtual series

So many more virtual runs are upcoming with Gone for a Run’s virtual series! Jump in and check out what’s ahead, especially for the summer for those of us training for Fall marathons. The current event taking place between June 22-26th is Run with Me 5k. This particular virtual brings runners together with their best friends with four-legs! Or, if you don’t have a pup to run with, you can just participate in support of the furry friends.

Another fun virtual option is We Run Free Because of the Brave 4-Miler on the 4th of July. It supports our troops through the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. No matter which virtual(s) you do, remember they all help out a charity organization.
