This morning, I board an airplane bound for New York. This trip being months in the making. I’ve worked hard to train for Sunday’s big race and I’m ready. Well, mostly.
Physically, I’ve trained, I’ve run the miles to get to that starting line at the Verazzano-Narrows Bridge. Amazingly, I actually got up to 29 miles on my last long run almost three weeks ago. Crazy when I think about it. So much work has been put in for this dream race.
I want to thank each and every one of you who has been a supporter of my running and this dream of running NYC. It’s so surreal to me right now that my dream is about to become a reality. I know I couldn’t have made it without God, first and foremost because He has made me feel so blessed through my journey. My amazing running group, Orlando Galloway is always there for me and they truly are family. The online running community is also so great. And of course, my mom. She has been and continues to be my biggest fan. I love her more than I can put into words. She is right there by my side no matter what.
If you would like to track me on Sunday, you can download the TCS NYC Marathon app in the Google Play or Apple store. My bib number is #69065. I will definitely be posting lots of photos and such all weekend long on facebook, twitter and instagram. Be sure we are connected so you can follow the fun and excitement. 🙂
