By races, I mean virtual…because, as we all know, unfortunately actual races are on hold. I’m REALLY hoping by October we can line up at the starting line of races again. I SO miss it!
I have posted about two virtual races I will be doing as a BibRavePro, the Cinco de Miler and Hospital Hill Run 10k. I added another to that list as a BibRavePro, Carmel Marathon 10k. They have a few distance options, and I will be blogging about that one specifically this week. All three are still open for virtual registration if you’d like to join the fun.
The other virtual I have signed up for is the Hot Chocolate 15k. A runner friend asked me to do this one with her, and I said yes. We will be running it this coming weekend. I have only done Hot Chocolate once before, and it was in Tampa back in 2016, Had a great time, less for the heat. This one will be a bit different since it’s virtual, but I plan on making the best of it and having a good time.
While I know some runner friends are on the fence with the virtual races, I think right now, they are a great way to keep up motivation during this unprecedented time. It gives me something fun to keep my training runs more exciting. And hey, maybe you’ll like a race swag or medal so much that you’ll want to go run it in person next year!
Are you running any virtual races right now? Let me know if so in the comments and which one(s)?
