This week, I joined in the fun that is periscope. Let me tell you, I’ve had so much fun already! I was iffy at first about taking the leap into doing video, let alone live video, but I’m getting the hang of it. Well okay, the few scopes that I’ve done thus far aren’t the most organized or what have you, but practice makes perfect, right?
If you don’t know what Periscope is, let me tell you about this new social media outlet. It’s a live streaming video application for either android or iOS which allows you to publically or privately share with viewers. You can tweet out to your followers on Twitter when you have begun a scope video. Once you are live streaming, viewers can send “hearts” to you as a form of appreciation by tapping on their screen. They can also comment to the broadcaster as they are streaming live as well as reply to other viewers. Each video stays up for 24 hours available for replays.
There are so many ways to share your thoughts and your world with people through Periscope. I know it’s going to be a great time when I’m up in New York for the marathon. Also, a lot of folks are offering up advice, tips, tricks and such through these scope videos. Really, the possibilities are endless with Periscope.
I’d love for you to follow me and my scopes over at GirlsGotSole on Periscope. Hope to see you there!
