I’m not from an area that experiences a true Fall season. But, if I did, a fun race like The Great Pumpkin Run in Lansing, Michigan would be the kind of race I would love. The 5k has the Fall season in mind with the race taking place on September 8th. Go out and run or walk the 5k, then enjoy a cup of apple cider courtesy of Uncle John’s Cider Mill. This also happens to be the location of the event. For a number of area residents, the Cider Mill brings back childhood memories. Enjoy apple cider donuts, home-baked goods, tractor-pulled hayrides, a corn maze and of course hard apple cider pints for the adults!
All registered participants receive some awesome swag to commemorate the fun! You’ll get a unique 2018 1/4 zip race tech hoodie, custom finisher’s medal, apple cider, and your own small pumpkin. In addition, FREE professional race photos and entry to the farm all day. If you want to up your game, add on the Tough Pumpkin option, and you will get a pumpkin to run the 5k with. If you cross the finish line with the pumpkin intact, you will receive a second, exclusive Tough Pumpkin medal!
If you can’t make it out to Lansing in person, good news! The Great Pumpkin Run has a virtual option! You can run/walk in your own neighborhood any day during the Fall season. Virtual participants will receive the tech hoodie and bib as well as the finisher’s medal. Check out the virtual 5k race option and sign up today!
