Goals for 2016

Goals

It’s been 2016 now going on two days. I’m still not completely sure what the new year will bring for me. What I do know is I do have a few goals in mind to get start on right away. I don’t believe in resolutions, but I do believe in setting goals for yourself, both short-term and long-term ones.

Get closer to God. This is my biggest goal for the year. I don’t want to be lukewarm, I want to be completely in for Christ. It’s not going to be easy every day, but I want to commit myself to really work on my relationship with Him.

2,016 miles in 2016. I’ve joined the challenge through Run the Edge to run this mileage this year. I’m part of a team of four. So, this makes getting in 2,016 miles between all of us easier. I want to see if I can exceed the 504 miles that I will be accountable for.

Restart PiYo. It’s time to again hit ‘play’ and get my sweat on with Chalene Johnson! I really do love her, and I want to finally follow through on getting the entire program done this year.

Read a book a month. I’ve gotten off reading as much as I used to. Goal is to read at least a book a month. Again, I’d love to exceed that, but first thing is to get going on my reading again on a consistent basis.

Work on my speed. With 2016 being the year of the half marathon for me (no full marathons until at least 2017), I want to work on getting a bit faster. So, I’m going to get back on the track for weekly track workouts, and do hill workouts when I can. I’d love to better my 5k, 10k and half marathon times this year.

New Year Goals

That’s the five goals I’ve got to start working on in 2016. I am also going to drop the 3-4lbs I re-gained after running NYC during the holidays. Too much junk food doesn’t do my muffin top good! Then, I want to maintain my goal weight again like I did from June through the big marathon last year. I think not running a marathon will help in keeping my weight…at least I hope so. 🙂

What are your goals for 2016? I’d love to hear about them!
Let’s help one another stay accountable and motivated this year.
