Do you listen to running podcasts? I am always on the lookout for new great podcasts concerning running and fitness. There are a few that I already love and have been following for awhile. In no particular order, here are my favorites.
The Marathon Show. I’ve mentioned Joe Taricani before and his awesome podcast about running full and half marathons. Joe takes you along as he runs races and it’s such a fun show to listen to. He also does Coffee with the Audience shows and other special episodes intermixed throughout his race adventures. Definitely a podcast not to miss if you are a runner.
The Extra Mile. This is one of the first running podcasts I discovered about two years ago. It is hosted by Kevin Gwin and he is a Galloway runner. He’s done numerous shows with Mr. Jeff Galloway himself and they are all great stuff. Other than following some of Kevin’s training, people can call in with their race and training reports to the show’s hotline. Kevin’s current project with The Extra Mile podcast is a series with Jeff Galloway about training for a half marathon.
Marathon Training Academy. Another podcast I discovered well over a year ago is hosted by Angie & Trevor. This is all about training for marathons as well as advice and tips for runners. The couple is entertaining and I always find myself chuckling at their antics, especially Trevor’s. They make the show fun.
Mickey Mile Podcast. I recently discovered the Mickey Miles podcast late last year. I was introduced to it by one of my fellow runners in my group and I have to say, I’m glad I am a subscriber. The focus are runDisney races and training for them. Hosted by Mike Scopa and Michelle Scribner-MacLean, the duo are very knowledgeable about all things Disney and of course running. If you are running a Disney race, this should be a podcast you check out.
Runner Academy. Matt Johnson hosts this podcast all about reaching your running goals whether you are training for a 5k or a marathon. He brings on experts regularly like Bart Yasso and Dean Karnazes who are always great to hear talk about our favorite sport. Matt is a certified running coach, so he knows his stuff.
Another Mother Runner. I’m not a mother, but I love this show. Dimity and Sarah are fun to listen to as they talk about running, cycling, swimming and this and that. They are authors of the book, Run Like a Mother. I’d say this is a must-listen to show if you are a mother runner (or like me, just like great running podcasts).
Runner Girls. This a a podcast hosted by three friends, Sue, Katie and Meagan. They train for half marathons as well as 5k and 10k races. The girls just wrapped up season two, so they are in hiatus until sometime this summer after running their second half marathon together. It’s like listening to your running girlfriends.
A few others I have recently started listening to include, Marathon Journey, The Run Coach, Dirt Dawg’s Running Diatribe, and Embrace Running. What podcasts do you listen to? I’d love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!
