My first race of the season is in 12 days in Atlanta. I will be running the PNC Atlanta 10 Miler on October 21st, thanks to being a BibRavePro.
I’m excited to get my race season started, and the Atlanta 10 Miler should be a great kick-off. The only race I’ve run in Atlanta is Jeff Galloway’s 13.1 back in it’s inaugural year, in 2014. It was a bit chilly for this Florida girl that year, but I had a great time running in Atlanta. Returning to run in Atlanta should be another good time.
Unfortunately, I don’t get out of Florida to run much (darn money, or lack thereof), but Georgia and the Carolinas are definitely states I love to road trip to. Atlanta is about a 6 hour drive from Orlando, so it’s not too bad. My plan is to leave early Friday morning, and then arrive that afternoon. The race itself is on Sunday, so I won’t be heading back to Florida until Monday.
With Wine & Dine Half Marathon and the OUC Orlando Half Marathon on my race schedule, my training has been right on. I’ve already run a couple of 10 mile training runs, and just ran 12 miles this past weekend. The only part of the race course itself I may not be prepared for is Cardiac Hill. My hill work hasn’t been the best this season, so we shall see how well I handle that famous hill. On the bright side, it’s a downhill run at mile 2. Maybe that makes it a bit better? 🙂
